Cornerstone User Information

Electronic Cornerstone User Manual

The electronic Cornerstone User Manual details the specific procedures required to utilize the system's functions, including a comprehensive overview of the Cornerstone system and how to use it effectively at the local agency level.

At one time, the user manual was provided to Cornerstone agencies as a hard copy manual. Now, following technological trends, the manual is provided electronically on each Cornerstone workstation. Not only is this practice much more environmentally friendly and cost-effective, but it also allows users to access information easily and more quickly.

As new versions of the Cornerstone software are released, the electronic Cornerstone User Manual is updated accordingly, then downloaded to each Cornerstone workstation at each site. This process is transparent to the user and requires no action on their part.

An introduction to the electronic Cornerstone User Manual provides Cornerstone users with information on how to access the electronic Cornerstone User Manual from a Cornerstone workstation, how the manual is organized, how to use, print, and close the manual, and where within the manual users can find additional information.

  1. Click on the link above (named "Updated [Month Day, Year]").
  2. The "File Download" pop-up box will appear. Click on the " Save" button.
  3. A "Save As" window will open.  Make sure that you are saving to your desktop and then click the "Save" button again.

  5. To unzip the user manual files, look for this icon on the desktop:
  6. Double click on the icon to extract the user manual files and click on the "Run" button.
  7. Click on the "Continue" button.
  8. Click "OK" so that the user manual will install on your desktop.
  9. Once the user manual files have unzipped successfully, click on the "OK" button.
  10. Another icon will appear on the desktop:
Double click on it to open the user manual. This is the icon that you will use to access the user manual and the information contained in it.  The other icon is strictly used for downloading the files to the workstation from the web site.

Note:  When downloading the user manual in the future, you will need to repeat this same process every time.  The only difference is that it will prompt to copy over the existing user manual on the desktop.  Just select the option that will allow the new file to copy over the existing one.
