Cornerstone Awards

Food and Nutrition Service Administrator's Citation.  The Illinois Department of Human Services' WIC Program was awarded the "Food and Nutrition Service Administrator's Citation" by the United States Department of Agriculture. The award was given to IDHS' WIC Program "for the development and implementation of a state-of-the-art integrated management information system that facilitates the delivery of health services to a wide range of WIC participants."

Dan Glickman Pyramid Awards of Excellence.  In 1999, the Illinois Department of Human Services was awarded the prestigious Dan Glickman Pyramid of Excellence Award for Food and Nutrition Services for the Cornerstone system. This is the highest award presented by the United States Department of Agriculture to state and local agencies that operate its nutrition assistance programs. Initiated in 1998, the Pyramid of Excellence Award is presented annually to organizations that have been extraordinarily effective in their administration of USDA programs.

This award was presented to IDHS for the positive effects the Cornerstone system has had on the delivery of community health services in Illinois.
